Well, I'm very excited at the moment , in a couple of weeks I will be starting a new job. Where I will be co-running a unit for young disabled people. It also caters for people with an acquired brain injury. I also understand that there are a couple of elderly people who have Down’s Syndrome who have being residents at the adjoining elderly nursing home. This is an exciting opportunity and I am really looking forward to meeting the staff and residents. I have had a look around the unit and there are lots of potential to deliver a very high standard of care. The home manager wants me develop the unit as well as deliver training to the staff something that I am really excited about. The home has found a gap in the market for delivering care to young disabled people. It will be an ideal time to develop staff and their attitude towards people who have disabilities.

Well now into my third week of the new job. Everything is going well and have brought some new ideas which the management are very happy to listen to and to try. Working on Christmas Day and Boxing Day but have the ne year off so it's not that bad. Everyone is very welcoming and all appear very friendly. So I am very happy and think I have made a very good decision to leave my last job and take up this new post.
